At the age of 23, she became the youngest and only full-time female trader to work the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Because of her determination and networking, Simmons began a career in finance, which led to her becoming the second Black woman in more than 200 years on the trading floor. During a time of uncertainty after graduating from college and with no job prospect or business connections, Simmons committed to finding the right career opportunity. Simmons doesn't focus on her many accomplishments but chooses to reflect on the help she received from colleagues to reach success and establish a voice in the finance industry.
