Bill Cosby’s Lawyers Asks for Prison Sentence to Be Voided

Bill Cosby’s lawyers claim that a series of errors in his sex assault case is enough reason for his conviction to be overturned and have asked a Pennsylvania court to void his three-to-10-year prison sentence, according to NBC News.

During his sentencing in September, Cosby was deemed a sexually violent predator by Judge Steven O’Neill. His defense lawyers have filed a motion that argued the judge made a mistake in his sentencing and that Cosby’s current sentence was harsher than necessary given that the comedian is 81 years old and blind.

They also claim that there’s a two-to-three-year guideline range that’s standard for that particular crime and that evidence never proved that the disgraced comedian encountered the former Temple University employee in 2004.

Cosby was found guilty in April of sexually assaulting and drugging Andrea Constand in his Pennsylvania home 14 years.

O’Neill said that Cosby’s influence, money and use of drugs on Constand makes him a threat to other women, per NBC News.
