Issa Rae Throws Yacht Party for Black Emmy Nominees (PHOTOS)

Issa Rae is still rooting for everybody Black. The Insecure creator and star hosted a yacht party on Saturday to celebrate the Black nominees for this year’s Emmy Awards.

The celebration was originally a celebration of the third season of the HBO series, but with the record number of nonwhite creators snagging Television Academy nominations,  Rae, who is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, decided to share in the moment.

She hosted her costars, writers, showrunners and other big names including Tracee Ellis Ross, Jidenna, Lil Rel Howery and Tiffany Haddish, who already won her Emmy for her Saturday Night Live episode. Though they were not in attendance John Legend, Katt Williams and Keenan Thompson were also announced as winners in their categories during the un-aired Creative Arts portion of the Emmy Awards on Sept. 8 and 9.

The 70th Emmy Awards airs live on NBC at 8:00 p.m. EST.
