Letitia Wright Is Nervous About ‘Black Panther’ Scene Becoming Reality

Actress Letitia Wright plays Shuri, little sister to T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) in Marvel’s Black Panther. Shuri is arguably the scene stealer in the highly successful movie known for her supersmarts and attention-grabbing one-liners.

One of the funniest scenes in the movie happens when Shuri teases T’Challa about his archaic sandals. Her character shouts, “What are those?!” to mock him. Now, Wright says she’s nervous about that line being used on her when she walks out of her home. To counter the joke, the actress believes she always has to make sure her shoes are on point.

Though Wright worries about the joke following her around, it should be mentioned that many have fallen victim to it. The infamous trick comes from a viral video of a man asking a police officer about his black work boots that was posted to Instagram in 2015.
