Nicki Minaj Lands 100th Billboard Hot 100 Appearance

It’s been a bittersweet year for Queen rapper Nicki Minaj. Though she and fellow New York rhymer Cardi B nearly came to blows recently, which led to an epic social media showdown, the MC continues to make music history. She has landed her 100th appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 song chart with “Dip,” her latest collaboration with Tyga, which debuted at No. 83, PAPER reports.

Minaj is the first female solo artist to join the 100 club; Taylor Swift, who currently has 77 entries under her belt, is the runner-up. The Jamaica, Queens spitter is only surpassed by fellow Young Money stars Drake and Lil Wayne as well as rock ‘n’ roll icon Elvis Presley. The Glee cast holds the overall record, with 207 Hot 100 appearances.

In more positive news, Minaj has pledged to help the people of her homeland, Trinidad, trapped by massive flooding across parts of east, central and southwest of the island as well as parts of Tobago.

Soon after learning of the disaster, the “Coco Chanel” MC took to social media to show support to her birth country, vowing to provide financial support for those still living through the devastation. Minaj also shared that she teamed up with soca star Fay-Ann Lyons to provide aid.

“Trinidad, I am working on getting many different resources to you now. Fay-Ann & I have been communicating non-stop. I will let you know exactly who I’m donating the funds to & hope to be with you very soon. I Love you. We will get through this.”

Lyons went on to thank Minaj for her support and for not forgetting where she came from.

“Thank you @nickiminaj for the deep concern for your fellow Trinis. We know your love for home is real and you staying in contact daily shows it. We are definitely appreciating your generosity. We had a great walkabout today, and both @bunjigarlin and I are 100 percent with you. #Queen #Trinidad.”
