Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest was one of those real emcees. Real emcees. At times flipping to his Jamaican dialect, his high-pitched and barky vocals  practically vibrated with energy and complemented the smoothed out, lowkey delivery of  Q-Tip the Abstract.

His five-foot stature didn’t stop him from being a lyrical giant.

As we settle into the sad fact that Malik “Phife Dog” Taylor passed away Tuesday at age 45, it’s only right to pay tribute, hip-hop style, with video of some of the dopest verses and freestyles he ever gifted us.
