Adidas to Offer Colin Kaepernick Endorsement Deal If He Returns to NFL

While there were plenty of brands and public figures who disapproved of Colin Kaepernick’s decision to take a knee last year in protest of racial inequality, there are plenty others who back the ethics-based choice, and Adidas is proudly one of them.

During a recent interview at Arizona State University’s Global Sport Summit, president of Adidas North America, Mark King revealed, “If [Kaepernick] signs on a team, we would definitely want to sign him.”

King continued, “We love athletes that have a platform to make the world a better place. If they’re an activist in a way that brings attention to something that moves the world forward, even if there’s controversy at that moment, we’re really interested in those athletes because I think it represents the world today.”

Kaepernick was expected to be recruited by the Seattle Seahawks, but his workout session with the team was cancelled after he declined to confirm he wouldn’t continue to kneel in protest.
