LaLa & Carmelo Anthony Still ‘Figuring Out’ Marriage Post Separation

Love itself can be tricky, but marriage is a whole other ballpark!

Just ask LaLa and Carmelo Anthony, as the reality star and NBA baller are still “figuring out” their relationship after separating in 2017.

While attending the launch of grooming line Lumiere de Vie Hommes in New York City, the POWER actress shared with PEOPLE that she and Anthony are in a good place, and only want to do right by 11-year-old son, Kiyan.

“We’re good. I mean, we’ve been together for a really long time, so we’re figuring out how to make it work for what is best for [our 11-year-old son] Kiyan and what is best for us.”

“We’re having fun! I have my husband here, my friends here, it’s a really exciting time.”

The site also claims to have spotted the Anthonys kissing as “Love On Top” by Beyonce played in the background.

LaLa and Carmelo separated following reports of the basketball star cheating on his wife with a dancer who works at a gentlemen’s nightclub in New York, TMZ reported. Reportedly, last year’s NBA season also put a strain on their marriage.

The split, however, has always been amicable. The co-parents were often seen out and about together with their son and always speak highly of one another to the press. LaLa told Wendy Williams shortly after their separation that she wasn’t sure if she actually wanted a divorce.

“You know marriages are tough. And you know that, we all know that. It’s filled with ups and downs and we’re just going through a time right now. Him and I are the best of friends and our number one commitment is to our son, Kiyan. We have to set an example to Kiyan and that’s what’s most important.

“So I would absolutely never say a bad thing about my husband. That’s my son’s father and he is an amazing dad. I could NOT ask for a better dad.”
