FX Hit ‘Pose’ Renewed for 2nd Season

FX continues to embrace original storytelling with the renewal of Ryan Murphy’s Pose, which  is set to return for a second season Spring 2019.

Network CEO John Landgraf released a statement announcing its renewal and speaking to its cultural impact:

“Ryan Murphy has once again revolutionized television with Pose, an incredibly engaging story of creativity, courage, compassion, love and family at a pivotal time in our culture. As television critics have universally acknowledged, there is simply nothing like Pose on TV, so effortlessly excelling on every creative level and earning a place in television history for its infectiously inclusive spirit. We are honored to partner with our producers Ryan, Brad Falchuk, Steven Canals, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall and Sherry Marsh, and the incredible cast and crew to continue this groundbreaking journey that is Pose.”

The popular series is based on the New York City drag ball scene of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, starring Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore and Hailie Sahar. The series features the largest cast of LGBTQ characters ever for a scripted show.

Born and raised in Compton, California, Jessica Bennett began her career as an intern at The Oakland Post, and later, The Source Magazine. She went on to write for respected hip hop publications such as DJ Booth and Hip Hop DX before becoming the Urban Editor of pop culture website, Wetpaint.com. She joined Ebony as the Entertainment Editor August 2017. Bennett has interviewed such names as Vanessa Williams, Spike Lee, Tyra Banks, Forest Whitaker, Magic & Cookie Johnson and several others.
