Michelle Obama Voted America’s Most Admired Woman in new Poll

Michelle Obama’s incredible year continues to get better, as she was just voted the most admired woman by Americans this year, according to a Gallup poll.

The former first last knocked Hillary Clinton from the no. 1 spot on the list, a position she held since 2002, per CNN.

Gallup asked respondents to name the women they most admired and 15% of Americans named the newly minted author.

Obama has been promoting her new book Becoming, which touched upon her life growing up in Chicago, attending Ivy League universities and her time in the White House. Her book has sold over three million copies.

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey came in second place, Clinton placed third on the list and Melania Trump came in fourth place.

According to CNN, the other women who made the list were: Queen Elizabeth, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and future House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
