R. Kelly Celebrates Birthday Amid Renewed Allegations

R. Kelly was spotted inside of a nightclub on Chicago’s South SideTuesday night, according to WGN-TV.

The singer, who turned 52, was in the venue celebrating his birthday. His appearance came days after the premiere of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly docuseries, which revived decades of sexual abuse/misconduct allegations against him.

In the video, the three-time Grammy winner is seen wearing a red baseball hat, sunglasses and a fur-lined coat as he sang his 1993 hit “Bump N’ Grind.” The welcoming clubgoers happily sang along.

Kelly seemed unfazed about the negative impact of the docuseries. During the impromptu performance, he shouted, “It’s my motherf***ing birthday, and I don’t give a f**k what’s going on tonight.”

Since Lifetime aired the dream hampton-produced series, authorities in Chicago and Atlanta are reportedly conducting investigations into allegations made against the singer-songwriter.

On Wednesday, dozens of women protested in front of Kelly’s West Town recording studio. It was later reported that two women contacted the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office with new allegations.

With pressure and criticism from fans, artists including Chance the Rapper and Lady Gaga have apologized for previously working with Kelly, who has denied any sexual misconduct.
