The World’s Big Sleep Out, a Call for an End to Global Homelessness, to Take Place December 7

On Saturday, December 7the world will unite to help fight homelessness with what is thought to be one of the largest charitable fundraising campaigns in a generation. Across 50 major cities worldwide—including Los Angeles, Chicago, New Delhi, Hong Kong and Madrid—in backyards, hometowns and iconic locations around the globe, people will sleep out overnight in unison to create the world’s largest display of solidarity with and support for those experiencing homelessness and displacement. New York City’s sleep out will take place in the iconic Times Square, where acclaimed actor Will Smith will perform a “bedtime story” for 1,100 participants braving the cold. All of the funds raised from the NYC event will go toward registered charities helping homeless and displaced people. Funds raised in the United States will be managed byUNICEF USA.  Local New York charity beneficiaries include the Robin Hood Foundation, Breaking Ground, the Ali Forney Center and the Coalition for the Homeless.

In New York City alone, more people are homeless now than at any time since the Great Depression. By sleeping out, you will be adding your voice to a campaign to provide lifesaving funds to end global homelessness.

Registration for the event closes on Wednesday, December 4. To learn more about the World’s Big Sleep Out and/or to donate, visit https://www.bigsleepout.com/WBSO@ledecompany.com.
